Subscribing Systems Access Dimensional Data via +EDM's Open Subscription
InterfaceThe success of a centralized dimension management strategy relies on the simplicity of integration with every downstream system dependent on dimensional data. Dimensional information in +EDM is readily available to subscribing systems in three standard data formats: SQL, XML and text. By far the most utilized, SQL delivers a series of published views in a variety of formats suited to business intelligence tools, data warehouses, data marts, and operational systems. XML is rapidly becoming the preferred standard for data interchange. Stratature is charting the way with +EDM's EDML format specifically designed for dimensional interchange. Finally, text files, still the preferred format of many mainframe systems, are fully supported in fixed, CSV and tab-delimited formats. |
